TT Ribbon

This is a special type of foil that is used in thermal transfer printers. The TT ribbon consists of a carrier layer, which is often made of polyester, and an ink layer.

The thermal transfer ribbon is inserted into the printer and serves as an ink supplier for the printing process. When printing with a thermal transfer printer, the ink is transferred from the foil to the material to be printed.

There are different types of TT ribbons that can be selected depending on the application and printing requirements.

We opted for wax-resin foil decades ago. These films contain a mixture of wax and resin as an ink layer. They offer greater durability than pure wax films and can also be used on coated paper and plastics.
